Betsy Markey refuses to pass federal budget

In another case of both fearing and loathing her own constituents in U.S. District 4, Congresswoman Betsy Markey is part of the gutless and spineless Democratic majority who refuse to pass a budget.

Why?  Simple really, they don’t want the voters to see what is really necessary to clean up the out of control spending by President Obama and his pals Pelosi, Reid, and of course Markey.  What did her opponent Cory Gardner have to say about it?

For the first time since the Congressional Budget Act was adopted in 1974, Congress will not pass a budget, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer confirmed today. The lack of a budget will mean Members of Congress will avoid a politically treacherous vote in the middle of an election year on the record trillion-dollar deficit facing the country.

Our economy is mired in a deep recession while government spending is out of control. This is not the time to shirk from the most basic responsibility of governing and passing a budget,” said State Representative Cory Gardner. “This is a missed opportunity. Instead of passing a budget that reins in government spending and implements the fiscal discipline necessary to spur the economy and create job growth, Congresswoman Betsy Markey is putting politics above the American people.”

Of course she’s putting politics above her own people, and has shown a pattern of this.  She’s not only forgotten that she only got into office on an anti-incumbent, anti-Republican wave, in addition to forgetting the demographics of her own district.  This isn’t Boulder or San Francisco.  It’s mainly the eastern plains of Colorado and a fairly conservative voting base who want no part of what Betsy Markey has done for, or more accurately, to them.

Easy fix, vote for Cory Gardner for U.S. House District 4 in November.  Betsy Markey had her shot, and she’s blown it.
